The Stats: After starting the season at RB Salzburg, scoring an incredible 16 goals in 14 games, Haaland made the switch to Dortmund in January and continued his streak, scoring 10 goals in just 9 games so far, including a hattrick in 23 minutes on his debut. All in all, Haaland now has 41 goals in 34 games in all competitions this season, that is staggering form.

Why Is He One To Watch?: Let’s be honest, who hasn’t heard of Haaland yet? The man has sent shockwaves across Europe almost every time he has stepped onto the pitch, ever since he scored 9 against Honduras U20 last summer at the U20 World Cup. Many wondered if he could continue his scoring run in the German Bundesliga, a clear step up from the Austrian won, but he has continued to show everyone exactly why he is probably Europe’s most exciting teenager currently.

He looks already ready-made to take over the mantle from Messi and Ronaldo, the question is: who is going to challenge him? Will there even be a debate on whether he is the best in the world in two years time? While that still remains to be seen, one thing is for sure, Haaland is serious and any team would be lucky to have him.

Rumoured Transfers: Speculation was rife, before Haaland eventually chose Dortmund, that he may move to Manchester United, since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the one who brought him through at Molde. Nonetheless, he chose Dortmund in the end due to the Champions League factor, yet the rumours about him rejoining his old gaffer at Old Trafford still refuse to go away. Of course, United would have to get themselves back on track, which could happen should the season be ended early and City stay banished from the Champions League.

In recent days, the more likely move has been the one to Liverpool, where just in recent days, former England manager Fabio Capello has said that Haaland would be a “perfect fit” for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Upcoming Opponents: Following their “reopening day” demolition of Schalke in the Revierderby, Dortmund now face Wolfsburg away, before a massive home clash against Bayern. The game will feature arguably two of the best goalscorers in the world this season as Haaland comes up against Robert Lewandowski for the first time in his career.
